Filipinos are racists too, didn’t you know that?
Warning!
If you are a narrow minded Filipino who cannot take what other people say to you, please leave this blog site as soon as you can if you don’t want to be offended.
I encourage you to have an open mind when you visit this blog site. Think twice before you react.
This is a response to those reports about Filipinos being racially discriminated in any forms. Maybe it be in tv shows, media, etc..
The thing that most people don’t know is that, Filipinos are racist too. I had my fair share when I was young & naive.
Everytime something hilarious or some jokes are made about Filipinos, you always get that strong Filipino reactiong towards any comments made about them. This actually goes to a higher level where Filipino officials actually gets involved.
Even with the case of Manny Pacquiao being not credited as a P-4-P (Pound for Pound) King in the boxing world, Filipinos would say that those people who published the material are racists. Even if it came from an unofficial ranking.
Filipinos, I would say are one of the worst racists.
Why?
Example, if a Filipino (especially the old ones) sees a black man walking on the street, they would say, “do you see a shirt floating around?” or, “do they look like monkeys & gorillas”?.
If they know that someones is a Muslim, they would say, “he’s/she’s a terrorist!”.
Some of my African friends were even described as a carabao (a domistricated sub species of the water buffalo), which really angered me. I mean, how can you describe them to something like that? Is just because they are black? Darker than your average Filipino brown man?
Some even go to the extent of avoiding them. Just not be close to someone who they look at as low life.
Tell Filipinos that they are low life & you’ll be bombarded with comments about being racists.
Filipinos have that feeling that they are superior. That they should not be treated less.
If someone gives a good name to Filipinos, they are up their, in the heavens, mention something bad about them, you’re a racists.
I find it funny about that incident in Desperate Housewives, not funny like hilarious funny. The thing I find funny about it is the reaction of most Filipinos. Seriously, isn’t that the truth? That “professional diplomas” can just be bought in the streets?
I think some of those who protested were even frauds. Not real professionals!
Of course, this doesn’t mean that my comments apply to all Filipinos. There are Filipinos out there that are truly racists.
Sorry if I had some strong words, I’m not even sure if it’s strong enough for you. But sorry if I do offend to some people, but that’s the reality of Filipinos being racists.

There is something not so right here in this kind of argument. Allow me to re-arrange your arguments/premises:
1. BBC is racist (proof: Paul and Harry sketch of Filipina maid.
2. Americans are racist too (proof: Desperate housewives issue)
3. Filipinos are racist too (your proof: African friend referred
to as carabao/water bufallo)
4 Since Filipinos are racist too its okay to be racist.
That is how I perceived this blog. Logically I find this a bit distressing. For one, racism is bad and I think there is no argument about that. I don’t have to remind you of the holocaust which I know your familiar with. Millions died because the Aryan race thought they were superior. Genocide was committed in Serbia and Herzegovina because one race thought they were better than the others. Needless to say the time of slavery was also a product of racism.
Racism is bad isn’t it? Racism in any form is no good. Justifying it by the logic that its okay for others to be racist as we Filipino as a race is racist too is even worse. I hope you get my point.

I’m glad you did not take your comments universally sir( or is it madam? ).
As a Filipino, I am a little bit hurt, a little bit against of the ideas you presented. ( I hope that you understand. I know that you know- It’s natural.)
Also, had you really heard a lot of words from Filipinos who discriminate their co- Filipino Muslims? Saying, here comes the terrorists?
I think, you’re taking it too seriously. Filipinos are not the people who usually are making fun of to a dark- complexioned man.
Perhaps, you’re refering to younger age individuals who are not yet in their mature stage or to some who are not in their self- condition.

@ P Salazar:
I’m not promoting racism. And yes racism is no good in any form. I was pointing out that, everytime a Filipino or Filipinos as a whole had been racially discriminated they always sue those who discriminates, but has any Filipino(s) been sued yet for discrimination? Don’t tell me that a Filipino hasn’t discriminated any nationalities yet. There are Filipinos who racially discriminates other nationalities too.
I don’t know about the holocaust you’re talking about, but I will surely do make a research of it. I’m in Australia & not in America.
@ der van:
I’m hurt too, but it’s the reality. Well, it’s not only the younger generations, there are also some matured Filipinos who still discriminates. My example about a black man walking down the street, I could still hear those type of expressions.

I agree with your general sentiment. The problem is Filipinos are too sensitive. I’ve also written an article about this Desperate Housewives issue before. My main point was our reaction was over the top.

I agree. Filipinos are racists, and they are racists of the worst sort because they are racists among their own people. In the Philippines, a white or asian foreigner will always get the better treatment compared to a local brown Filipino.
