Anyways, this is the Part 2 of my post Tac… what?.

A source of mine apparently did some proof reading. Yes, someone actually did that for me without even me asking him/her. How generous this people are.

Apparently it’s been like that for quite sometime now.

Judging the website, it looks truly awful!

Imagine this, they are the worst money grabbers in Tacloban City, & they can’t even get a good design for a website. Just imagine where those money go. Don’t tell me it goes back to the people of Tacloban.

Anyways, while reading the Guestbook section, there were actually people who wrote that they would visit the place soon. Why? It’s not because the place or great, I mean basing on the gallery that they had, the place actually looks good. But the main reason that people would go to that place is because of Cristina G. Romualdez.

Yes that old actress who used to appear in movies that has love scenes. I would admit she’s a damn fine actress. Fine in a definition of man. Like fine = hot. She was good at it.

As all Filipinos know, we are suckers to whoever is famous. And this is the main reason why they would visit the place. Their friends would envy them because they went for a spa at Cristina Salon and Spa.

It’s not all about the service, it about the profile of the owner.

Anyways, I think I missed out to point this one out about the Guestbook section.

How come you’re using government property domain name for your own salon & spa? you’re taking advantage of its Search engine top ranking for your own business! would you please stop using tacloban.gov.ph domain to advertise your salon. use your own domain!!! POLITOKO TALAGA..

1. If they actually lecture all Taclobanons as to why they should convert to HUC
2. Discuss the advantages
3. Discuss the disadvantages
4. What’s the rush to convert into HUC

• I WOULD ONLY NO:

1. If they don’t actually do what I mentioned above
2. If the Romualdez family would still be money grabbers
3. If the rich would only benefit from it

Whew!

It’s been ages, haven’t been blogging here.

Been busy & my brain had been dry lately. But hey, I’ve got something new to give today. I got this while hanging around mIRC in the undernet.org network, I was actually at the #tacloban channel. Just checking how everything’s going in my hometown.

But anyways, this is what I found, someone actually typed this in. It’s the Tacloban City Government website.

What can you say about it?

There’s been discussion about Tacloban City going HUC (Highly Urbanized City). I think it only started like a few months back. And people who are pro-HUC are now campaigning for it. Because Mayor Romualdez & Governor  Petilla can’t agree with each other, they have to do this thru votation. Or this is how it really works?

Based on what I’ve read, Taclobanons (people from Tacloban) haven’t been informed properly as to what the advantages & disadvantages of becoming HUC. And the campaign only mentions about Tacloban becoming a rich city. I think that’s not good enough.

The worst part of the campaign is, they slur each other. They can not say good things about each other. And that’s why things like this doesn’t stop in Tacloban.

Anyways, back to the website. How the heck can you redirect the City Government’s website to your family member’s business? As what the guy said in mIRC, expect a lot of that when Tacloban becomes HUC.

Does this mean that Tacloban City will be a business already handled by the Romualdezs?

Filipino proverbs, folk literature, mythology…

I was doing some research on Wikipedia, on the “Did you know…” section, I bumped into a very interesting article.  It was “Filipino proverbs“, I’ve been searching for such an article in Wikipedia but just couldn’t find them. I think I used wrong keywords to look for it.

But anyways, I also found other interesting articles, “Philippine folk literature” & “Philippine mythology“. I believe this articles were newly written.

Based on my understanding, Wikipedia’s “Did you know…” section only shows new articles. Not old ones like for how many years already.

I’m currently looking at Wikipedia right now, but I couldn’t find what I found this morning. The part where it was talking about “Filipino proverbs“.

I think this is a good idea that someone actually made an article about interesting things about our culture. I mean, the issue of racism that is still going on in the UK, I think this is a good way to point other nationalities attention. And for Filipino people to move on.

I wouldn’t really say that Wikipedia is 100% acurate, but I would suggest that you have a look at those articles.

Filipinos are racists too, didn’t you know that?

This is a response to those reports about Filipinos being racially discriminated in any forms. Maybe it be in tv shows, media, etc..

The thing that most people don’t know is that, Filipinos are racist too. I had my fair share when I was young & naive.

Everytime something hilarious or some jokes are made about Filipinos, you always get that strong Filipino reactiong towards any comments made about them. This actually goes to a higher level where Filipino officials actually gets involved.

Even with the case of Manny Pacquiao being not credited as a P-4-P (Pound for Pound) King in the boxing world, Filipinos would say that those people who published the material are racists. Even if it came from an unofficial ranking.

Filipinos, I would say are one of the worst racists.

Why?

Example, if a Filipino (especially the old ones) sees a black man walking on the street, they would say, “do you see a shirt floating around?” or, “do they look like monkeys & gorillas”?.

If they know that someones is a Muslim, they would say, “he’s/she’s a terrorist!”.

Some of my African friends were even described as a carabao (a domistricated sub species of the water buffalo), which really angered me. I mean, how can you describe them to something like that? Is just because they are black? Darker than your average Filipino brown man?

Some even go to the extent of avoiding them. Just not be close to someone who they look at as low life.

Tell Filipinos that they are low life & you’ll be bombarded with comments about being racists.

Filipinos have that feeling that they are superior. That they should not be treated less.

If someone gives a good name to Filipinos, they are up their, in the heavens, mention something bad about them, you’re a racists.

I find it funny about that incident in Desperate Housewives, not funny like hilarious funny. The thing I find funny about it is the reaction of most Filipinos. Seriously, isn’t that the truth? That “professional diplomas” can just be bought in the streets?

I think some of those who protested were even frauds. Not real professionals!

Of course, this doesn’t mean that my comments apply to all Filipinos. There are Filipinos out there that are truly racists.

Sorry if I had some strong words, I’m not even sure if it’s strong enough for you. But sorry if I do offend to some people, but that’s the reality of Filipinos being racists.

I’ve heard that song before

Just minutes ago, I was listening to 2 simultaneous mp3s in my laptop. This songs were Asin’s Ang Bayan Kong Sinilangan & Black Eyed Peas’ (apl.de.ap) The APL Song.

In most websites, The APL Song’s samples are not referenced properly. Only one was song was actually referenced, which was Asin’s Balita. There’s actually another song that apl.de.ap used to sample, it was Ang Bayan Kong Sinilangan also by Asin.

I came to find out about the second song when I was listening to it. The guitar intro of The APL Song is similar to the guitar licks used in Ang Bayan Kong Sinilangan. Well, it wasn’t really a guitar, it was actually an old Filipino musical instrument, I think it was Kulintang that was used in the song. The guitar was used to accompany the Kulintang in the song. While the chorus of The APL Song was taken from Balita.

I was planning to put up the 3 songs altogether, Asin’s Ang Bayan Kong Sinilangan & Blita & apl.de.ap’s The APL Song. But WordPress.com won’t allow me to post anything from Imeem.com.
